What is Optifine?
Optifine is a Minecraft mod made to increase FPS (Frames Per Second) and generally make your game run smoother. “But aren’t mods not allowed on Ohanacraft?” You may say. The answer to that is YES. Mods are strictly banned from Ohanacraft (unless you are on Ohanacraft modded of course). But Optifine is one of the very few exceptions to this rule. You can download and use Optifine on Ohanacraft and not be concerned about a staff telling you to not use the mod. That does not mean that other mods are ok to use though. The general rule for whether a mod is allowed on Ohanacraft (not Ohanacraft modded) is this: If it gives you any type of unfair advantage over other players, it is not allowed on Ohanacraft.
But even with that rule, always ask a staff member if a mod is ok to use before using it on Ohanacraft.
Ok, So how do I get Optifine?
Optifine is available for free from Optifine’s official website. The link to where you can download it is here:

When you get to this page, make sure you are under the right version. The currently available version is for Minecraft 1.13.2. Optifine for Minecraft 1.14 is being worked on as of the publishing of this article and will be released soon.
For us, the current version of Ohanacraft is 1.13.2. So we would go to that section. Go to the topmost line in the list, conveniently highlighted in blue. DO NOT PRESS DOWNLOAD! Instead, press ‘(mirror)‘ right next to it. That will bring up a window like this:
You want to click this download button. Save the file into a folder (Downloads or Documents works just fine). Now close the window. Next, go to the folder you saved the file to (probably Downloads or Documents) and open the .jar file which you downloaded. Note: The installation of Optifine does not require Forge Mod Loader or any outside file or program. That should bring up a window on your desktop that looks something like this:
You want to press install. This will add Optifine to your Minecraft Launcher. Once the installer is finished, go ahead and open your Minecraft launcher. You then want to go to the Launch Options and press “Add new”
Now you can click the drop down on the version section and scroll through until you see Optifine under the releases. Click that, then press save. If you go back the the “News” tab, you can select the Optifine launcher profile from the drop down there.
Now you can launch your Minecraft like normal and it will have Optifine installed. If you go into your settings, you now have much more detailed video options to enhance your gameplay.
